About

The Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) is a specialized group within the American Association of Geographers (AAG) dedicated to researching health, disease, spatial epidemiology, and healthcare delivery. It promotes the study of geographic aspects of health, offering awards, networking, and forums for academic researchers and practitioners.

We meet yearly in-person at the AAG Annual Conference at our business meeting, but also have multiple additional opportunities to connect via a remote Speaker Series, and connections at the bi-annual International Medical Geography Symposium and GeoMed.

We invite you to become a member today via the AAG website, and/or follow updates on our website and social media communications. Members can access additional information and posts on jobs, events, and more at the AAG Knowledge Communities site. Our By-Laws can be view here.

Learn more about the current Executive Board and past Chairs of HMGSG. Elections are held yearly, with results announced at the Annual Conference.
