IMGS Student Travel Awards

The Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) of the American Association of Geographers is offering up to two travel awards for the International Medical Geography Symposium (IMGS) Meeting, July 14th – 19th, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.

This award provides financial support for graduate and undergraduate students who plan to present on a health/medical geography topic at the conference.

To be considered for the award, please complete the following form no later than April 15th, 2024. You will need:

1. Responses to the following prompts:
   • How the award would be of assistance
   • Other travel funding available to you
   • Your goals in attending the IMGS conference 
2. The abstract of the paper you will be presenting at the conference.
3. Your Curriculum Vitae, which should include your name, affiliation, email address, and (physical) mailing address
4. A copy of your conference registration 

The number and amount of the awards will be determined by the number of submissions and the amount of travel costs not covered by the home institution. The HMGSG board will determine the winner(s) based on the quality of the abstract, financial need, and record of past scholarship. We intend to notify awardees by May 15th, 2024.
