The Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group (HMGSG) of the American Association of Geographers is offering the Health & Place Award (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/health-and-place) to Promote Pacific Research for the AAG Annual Meeting, April 16th – 20th, 2024 in Honolulu, Hawai’i.
This award provides financial support for researchers (undergraduate, graduate, or post-doctoral fellows) who plan to present (in-person or virtually) on a health/medical geography topic at the conference and are either from the Pacific Island region or are conducting research related to the Pacific islands.

Responses to the following prompts:
A brief summary of how your research supports health among pacific island people or where in the pacific you are from;
How the award would be of assistance;
Other funding available to you;
Your goals in attending the AAG conference.
The abstract of the paper you will be presenting at the conference.
Your Curriculum Vitae, which should include your name, affiliation, email address, and (physical) mailing address
A copy of your conference registration (e.g., acceptance note from AAG and PIN number)
We will be offering three awards in the amount of US$250 each. The HMGSG board will determine the winners based on the quality of the abstract, financial need, and record of past scholarship. We intend to notify awardees by December 1st, 2023.
